Scottie Joe Harlan Lancaster was born September 21, 1971, in Dalton, GA. Blessed with musically talented parents, Mary and Wilbur Lancaster gave Scott his love of music. At around age 6, he moved to New Boston, TX. and began to learn to play guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. By age 10, he was singing with a Christian group called "Soldiers of the Cross", and honing his skills as a musician. While still in High School, his rock band, "Dual Range" won the local talent show.
In March of 1992, Scott married Debra Lynn Brown and they moved to the heart of the Texas Hill Country, to Marble Falls. Scott immediateley found work as a carpenter and began to meet the areas talented, local artists. He played bass for many up and coming stars, most noteably, John Arthur Martinez , who went on to become 1st Runner up in the Nashville Star competion. John Arthur's band, TEJAS played historic Gruene Hall, Lukenbach, TX. and performed at Auditorium Shores, on Lake Austin for 30,000 people, as well as opening up for stars such as Emmy Lou Harris, Holly Dunn, Leroy Parnell, Gary P. Nunn and many others. Scott formed his own band, a Trio, "The Second Chance Band" who were the opening act for headliners such as Earl Thomas Connelly and Gary Stuart. Scott, and Second Chance were highly involved with charity benefits for Multiple Sclerosis, The Special Olympics and the Cherokee Children's Home.
In March of 1998, Scott and wife,"Lynn" (me!), went on the road with the "Twisted Cactus Band". This incredible variety band played at large venues across the U.S., including "The Wildhorse Saloon" in Nashville and Orlando, on Pleasure Island, Harvey's Casino in Blackhawk, CO and "Ain't Misbehavin'" (now "Shake It Up") in Branson, MO. That November, in 1999, is when "The Lancasters" fell in love with the Ozarks. So, we packed up and moved to Cape Fair, MO., hoping that Scott would find a career in music, his life's dream. He achieved this goal and began playing bass at Grand Country Music Hall with The Grand Jubilee in December of 2000. Since moving to the Ozarks, He has been blessed to appear in several shows, including "The Ozark Mountain Jubilee" in Eureka Springs, AR, "Branson's Gospel Gold", "Good Morning Branson", "The Motown Experience", and "The Branson Brothers". Om 2007, he played bass and sang harmony with The Joe Diffie "Orchestra" at the Yakov Theatre. He has also "subed" for The Doug Gabriel Show, and others, anytime an accomplished bass player and harmony singer are needed. And the winter of 2008, he went on tour, to Texas, with Moe Bandy!
For the last two seasons, Scott performed the "Glenn Frey" part in the show, "Take It To The Limit, a Tribute to The Eagles", at God and Country Theatre,. And as much as we loved our "Eagle" Family, when the oppourtunity became available to play for Tony Roi, this Spring, Scott couldn't refuse! We wish them all the best of luck!
Scott loves playing with some former "Twisted Cactus" members, as "Scotfree", and with his other bands, Headroom, and Billy Don Scott. He often plays acoustically, solo, or with his favorite accompanment, Ronna Haxby, on Flute.
Scott and I have 4 children, 5 beautiful Granddaughters amd two brand new Grandsons! 2/21/2010 and 3/10/2010!! We live happily in SW Missouri, on Table Rock Lake, with our black Lab, "Aja". We enjoy music, (of course!), of all kinds, re-modeling our "Lake House" and being on the water.
For fun, and pure "soul satisfaction", We enjoy volunteering, pet fostering and performing benefit concerts. Scott is the musical director for our favorite "pet" charity, PETSTOCK, (our BABY, founded in 2006!!) It is an annual benefit for the local Tri-Lakes Humane Society, and Scott makes sure that we have THE best entertainment possible, to make the most $$$ for the shelter and that everything goes off without a hitch! (He is VERY Good at it!!)
And, Now you know the rest of the story...
( I miss Paul Harvey!!)
